As previously mentioned by Paul, Rob, Craig and I checked out the space 
in Guthrie House in Moray Place opposite First Church.

We (I mostly) decided it would not be as good a space as the one Paul 
has at King Edward Tech.

Guthrie House positives:

    * more central, very convenient for Rob, Craig and I to access :)
    * nice carpet
    * Large L-shaped room, maybe 13m x 6m largest rectangular area + 12m
      x 3-4m other area

Guthrie House Negatives:

    * nice carpet - which we would be responsible for.
    * parking after hours not officially available (although if you know
      where to go there is plenty available.  Neither space has parking
      during work hours as I understand it, although at Guthrie House
      you are near DCC parking lots)
    * May be a problem if we create too much noise during work hours
    * Less natural light

The spaces seemed comparable on features, so we asked about the price.  
The full rate quoted was quite a bit higher than the KET price.  While 
we could probably negotiate a lower price than the KET space, they would 
definitely be doing us a big favour, and this might lead to an 
uncomfortable relationship in the future.

So on balance I recommended to Paul to go with the KET site.
