We should chat about this next time we meet - I know almost nothing
about the design considerations for this type of beastie. We still have
a few days to decide if we want to make a pledge and get the bits for
the DIY-CNC.

I can think of a huge number of fun things to make with a CNC, so my
inclination would be to go with whatever can get us a functional and
capable machine quickest, rather than making the CNC a project in
itself. I'd also like something that has an existing userbase to
cross-pollinate and troubleshoot with, and the DIY CNC project looks
like it will have hundreds of users from the outset.

Hah - we may have our first bikeshed problem here. ;) I lean strongly
towards "Dunedin MakerSpace", which has the virtue of being simple,
descriptive and inclusive. However, I think having a definite name for
ourselves ASAP is more important than getting the fine detail right -
so if we have no consensus, I think we should just let Paul make the
call and get on with it.

Cheers,

Aldo
