Its a pity this came up *after* the recent eDay 
(http://www.eday.org.nz/) - I'm betting there's a lot less unused 
computer gear laying about now. I know I got rid of a stationwagon full 
- a lot was old junk, but also some potentially useful stuff that was of 
no use to me (was running out of room, so it had to go eventually). I 
might be able to scrounge up some small stuff still.

Might be a good idea to eventually setup a pool of funds for purchasing 
gear that can be used by everyone. People could chip in a little bit 
when they feel like it, and eventually over time there would be enough 
to buy gear that no one is able to bring in - workstations/desks, 
hardware (computer or otherwise), etc.
